What is a sustainable amount of meat and dairy? That&#8217;s what this poster is about!<\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;ve noticed that a lot of people become perfectionists when eating sustainably &#8211; they have the feeling it&#8217;s never &#8216;good enough&#8217;. With this poster, we want to show what &#8216;good enough&#8217; really looks like.<\/p>\n<p>WWF Nederland publiceerde een <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wwf.nl\/globalassets\/pdf\/rapporten\/wwf-nl-2023-gezond-eten-binnen-de-grenzen-van-een-aarde-samenvatting.pdf\">rapport<\/a> dat precies laat zien hoe een gezond en duurzaam voedingspatroon eruit ziet voor de gemiddelde inwoner in Nederland. We vroegen de specifieke cijfers op en vertaalden deze naar deze poster.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\ud83c\udf74 Wat is Fork Ranger?\n\t\t\t\t<p>We&#8217;re a startup with the mission of making it as easy as possible to eat sustainably. And also it can feel as if it&#8217;s never &#8216;good enough&#8217;. We created this poster to help you imagine what you are trying to achieve. It should provide guidance but also a feeling of &#8216;when I reach this, I can be satisfied, it&#8217;s good enough&#8217;.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\ud83e\udd13 Hoe is het onderzoek gedaan?\n\t\t\t\t<p>De studie analyseerde het optimale voedingspatroon voor volwassenen (18-50y) dat:<\/p>\n<p>a) binnen de grenzen van de aarde blijft. Dat betekent dat onze voedselproductie een acceptabele impact heeft op de biodiversiteit, uitstoot van stikstof en fosfaat, langebruik, watergebruik, en klimaatverandering.<\/p>\n<p>b) gezond is. Expertise van de Gezondheidsraad en Voedingscentrum is meegenomen.<\/p>\n<p>c) is acceptable and doesn&#8217;t deviate too much from the current Dutch diet.<\/p>\n<p>Neem voor het hele rapport <a href=\"\/nl\/hier een kijkje\/\">een kijkje hier<\/a>.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\ud83c\udf31Is dit het enige gezonde en duurzame voedingspatroon?\n\t\t\t\t<p>Nee, het getoonde voedingspatroon is samengesteld zodat het duurzaam en gezond is, maar ook zo dicht mogelijk bij het huidige voedingspatroon blijft.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Sommige voedingspatronen bevatten meer plantaardige producten en minder of geen dierlijke producten dan dit voedingspatroon, als je bijvoorbeeld vegetarisch of veganistisch eet. Dit kan ook duurzaam en gezond zijn.<\/p>\n<p>In a vegetarian diet, it easily happens to substitute meat with more dairy products, which also have quite a climate impact, especially cheese. So it&#8217;s not automatically better for the climate than eating sometimes small amounts of meat. That&#8217;s why the amounts could feel &#8216;little&#8217; compared to what we see when we go grocery shopping.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\ud83e\udd66 How precies moet ik dit nemen? What?!<\/p>\n<p>There&#8217;s a simple reason: the poster includes quite a bit of dairy because that&#8217;s closest to what we currently eat in the Netherlands. But when you produce dairy you also get a bit of beef. In the research, they prioritized eating this &#8216;by-product&#8217; over lower-impact chicken.<\/p>\n<p>The same holds true for eggs &#8211; you also get a bit chicken meat from having hens &#8211; but it was so little (14 g per week) that we decided to leave it out.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\ud83d\udc40 Is er een verschil tussen het aanbevolen voedingspatroon voor mannen en vrouwen?\n\t\t\t\t<p>Deze poster laat het gemiddelde voor mannen en vrouwen zien, maar er zijn wat verschillen.<\/p>\n<p>In de studie was het voedingspatroon voor vrouwen in totaal 1760 kcal per dag en voor mannen 2330 kcal per dag.<\/p>\n<p>For most of the products you&#8217;ll find that the recommended amounts for women are a little lower than shown on the poster, and for men a little higher, except for the following foods:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Cheese &#8211; men 21 g\/week and women 147 g\/week<\/li>\n<li>Red meat (beef, pork) &#8211; men 14 g\/week and women 133 g\/week\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Eggs &#8211; men 49g\/week and women 147 g\/week<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>De reden hiervoor is dat vrouwen een hogere behoefte aan ijzer hebben.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\ud83d\udcaa Wat kan ik het beste eten als ik meer kcal per dag nodig heb?\n\t\t\t\t<p>As this poster shows average, you might not be an average person. Some people simply need more energy and of course that&#8217;s allowed! If you need more kcal each day, keep the following in mind: eat more plants, and less animals.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\ud83d\udd04 Wat zijn de grootste veranderingen vergeleken met het huidige Nederlandse voedingspatroon?\n\t\t\t\t<p>For this sustainable diet &#8216;acceptance&#8217; was one of the factors that was included, meaning the new sustainable diet shouldn&#8217;t include amounts beyond 33-150% of the current diet.<\/p>\n<p>De grootste veranderingen zijn:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>De hoeveelheid vlees is lager, maar er is nog steeds een beetje<\/li>\n<li>De hoeveelheid kaas is lager, maar er is nog steeds een beetje<\/li>\n<li>De hoeveelheid noten is hoger<\/li>\n<li>De hoeveelheid peulvruchten is hoger<\/li>\n<li>De hoeveelheid oli\u00ebn is lager<\/li>\n<li>Meer volkoren granen in plaats van geraffineerd<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\t<p>Staat jouw vraag hier niet tussen?
