Ons eten als weg uit de klimaatcrisis<\/h1>\n\t

Onze missie is om het zo makkelijk mogelijk te maken om klimaatvriendelijk te eten. We gebruiken data en storytelling om te laten zien welke keuzes het meeste uitmaken en ontwikkelen makkelijke recepten om kennis in praktijk te brengen.<\/p>\n\t

Hi, we are Fork Ranger’s founders Mareike and Frank. When we discovered that one-third of all greenhouse gasses come from food we wanted to do something.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\"Mareike\n\t

There are many different climate solutions and we need all of them. But the special thing about food is that our personal choices make a massive difference. That means everyone can contribute to the solution, every single day. And we can start with small steps.<\/p>\n

We are building a community of people who want to be part of the solution. We help beginners to take action and give seasoned food pioneers a way to share it with their friends (and not feel so guilty about every single food choice).<\/p>\n

The goal is not to make perfect choices by ourselves but to gather momentum until we reach a tipping point in society.<\/p>\n

What we’re most proud of is that people who use the Fork Ranger app<\/a> of het boek<\/a> gebruiken echt veranderen wat ze eten. Onze eigen enqu\u00eates, honderden interviews met users en reviews zijn hier het bewijs van.<\/p>\n

Bridging the so-called ‘intention-behavior’ gap is one of the greatest challenges, but we’ve found a way.<\/p>\n

Onafhankelijk onderzoek van master student Jack Ferris liet zien dat 73% van de omnivoren en flexitari\u00ebrs die de gratis Fork Ranger app gebruiken minder vlees zijn gaan eten. Lees hier meer.<\/a><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\"waves\n\t

The most difficult part about eating less meat is often that it’s not normaal <\/em>is. Veel mensen die ons volgen zijn al benieuwd naar duurzaam eten maar hebben nog steeds veel vragen. We helpen hen zich zekerder te voelen over hun keuze en ook het grotere plaatje te blijven zien. Dit help ze positief te blijven en ook hun vrienden en familie uit te nodigen om mee te gaan op reis.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\"waves\n\t

This is something we seriously considered given the fact that we’re an impact organization. However, when we spoke with other foundations we quickly realized that they spend a lot of time raising funding.<\/p>\n

As this isn’t our favorite activity, we’d rather spend our time developing amazing products that really help people and prove to be valuable to them – so that people are really willing to pay for it. This ‘commercial challenge’ drives us to create the best tools that actually lead to behaviour change. Organisaties nodigen ons ook uit voor een inspirerende keynote of geven onze producten cadeau aan hun medewerkers.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\ud83d\uded2 Dus, hoeveel verdienen jullie dan?\n\t\t\t\t

In 2023 the money Fork Ranger made was barely enough to pay ourselves (Frank and Mareike) minimum wage (in the Netherlands), while we work full-time on it. And then we’re not even talking about pensions and social securities.<\/p>\n

It’s our goal to increase this to the Dutch average income (gross income of 42.000 EUR) in 2024. We also have plans to set a maximum income and determine a fair and impactful way to use any surplus.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\ud83d\ude4c Waarom zou ik Fork Ranger supporten?\n\t\t\t\t

Door Fork Ranger te supporten maak je het mogelijk dat we full-time aan Fork Ranger kunnen werken. Dat betekent dat we meer mensen kunnen uitnodigen deel te worden van de community en betere producten kunnen ontwikkelen die echt handig, effectief \u00e9n leuk zijn.<\/p>\n

Op deze manier is de impact die jij hebt niet alleen beperkt tot het optimaliseren van je eigen klimaatimpact, maar inspireer je meer mensen om kleine stapjes te zetten. En uiteindelijk heeft dat een grotere totale impact.<\/p>\n

It’s not about becoming a perfectionist yourself, but about inviting more people to create tipping points for system change. By supporting Fork Ranger you are part of this.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\ud83e\udd14 Maar vertel me eens, hoe is het drukken van boeken en een seizoenskalender duurzaam?\n\t\t\t\t

We also asked ourselves this question: can’t we just create a digital product? However, the advantage of a physical product is that it’s a visual reminder in your home which really helps you to take action. It’s also easier to share with others through gifting – which is a good way to invite more people to join the journey.<\/p>\n

But is this enough to ‘justify’ the emissions of a hardcopy product? When we calculated the impact of the book and calendar – which we product pagina's hebben toegevoegd<\/a> – we were surprised to find that de impact lager is dan het koken van \u00e9\u00e9n Fork Ranger maaltijd vergeleken met een gemiddelde maaltijd<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\t
