The daily recipe you unlock after answering a quiz question is not always in season. The technical reason: that’s because the recipes are linked to what the daily story is about, and not linked to dates. Everyone starts their journey at a different moment and we don’t have the option to adjust this per person.<\/p>\n

Also we’ve chosen this set-up based on our Compass\u00a0for Eating Sustainably<\/a>. Many actions – the ones you learn about in the stories, like eating less meat and dairy – have more impact than eating seasonal, and therefore we find it more important to relate the recipes to the stories than to the season.<\/p>\n

A closer look: how important is seasonal?<\/h3>\n

Seasonality only affects the carbon footprint of fruits and vegetables. And compared to animal products, they have a much lower footprint. A tomato is one of the highest-impact vegetables, but even the worst tomato is\u00a0five times better than the same amount of cheese<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In other words: seasonal food can reduce your footprint, but it only covers a part of your diet that already has a low footprint.<\/p>\n

The main goal of our recipes is to help you eat less meat and dairy, while the seasonal part is a bonus.<\/p>\n
